Apple’s ad-free subscription gaming service, Apple Arcade, is introducing SpongeBob Squarepants crossover events in Snake.io+ and Crossy Road Castle. The iPhone maker also said that SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit is also getting a brand-new endless mode. This will be a limited-time event and it’s not the first time crossovers have been seen on Apple Arcade; previously Bluey showed up in Fruit Ninja Classic+ and Paddington appeared in Crayola Create and Play+.
These character crossovers may be helping to keep Apple Arcade subscribers engaged, especially families with kids interested in these characters.
Players of Snake.io+ will be able to unlock SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, and Plankton skins by completing missions until August 25. Meanwhile Crossy Road Castle will feature two SpongeBob events. The first is “Krabby Patty Kollectathon” (starting July 21) with 40 Bikini Bottom-themed levels and “Jellyfish Jam” (August 4-17). In this game, you can race as SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, or Sandy.
SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit, from today, has a new endless mode which offers increasingly difficult levels with no checkpoints or extra lives to see who can do the best in the leaderboards. All of the crossover events are exclusives to Apple Arcade and only here for a short time.
The SpongeBob crossover events join Bluey in Fruit Ninja Classic+, which runs until September 19, and Paddington in Crayola Create and Play+ through August 26. The Bluey crossover brings four events where you can get Bluey-themed wands, wand powers, dojos, and Easter eggs. Paddington's visit to Crayola Create and Play+ lets you explore a British-inspired world.
If you’re thinking of signing up to Apple Arcade, it costs $6.99 per month after a one-month free trial and it’s also available in Apple One bundles (Individual $19.95, Family $25.95, Premier $37.95). The main perks include over 200 games with no ads or in-app purchases. Arcade Originals are playable across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. App Store Greats are available on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro.
